The lamb over rice really hit the spot, especially since I asked for extra hot sauce and extra white sauce. The chicken over rice honestly wasn't as good - the meat was a little bland and they didn't add as much sauce on it. Regardless, the food here scratched my itch for halal cart food. ”

“ First time seeing this cart and my boyfriend raved about how many great reviews it had so we walked around and considered going all the way to Adel's but luckily my feet started hurting so we turned back and gave this cart a try! The gentlemen was super nice and gave us some recommendations (we also got lucky because it got busy right after he tended to us). The amount of food received for the price was definitely worth it and the flavor of the food was great. I will say the tikka dish I got was just okay though, the biryani had more flavor but I'm still glad I tried it. The sauces elevated the dishes too, and beware that hot sauce is NO joke. ”

“ This may be my go-to halal cart in NYC. Next to Bryant Park (like a block down), this place serves a really flavor chicken tikka, which is a unique and must try option that many of the other Halal carts don't really allow you to try. They also have Kati Rolls on the Menu, which are small, but quite fantastic. The only issue I have with this place is its pricing may be too high for the amount of quantity you are getting in your plate. The service is quite direct. Like many halal cart employee's I have a hard time with accents, but everyone I have interacted with has been great. Some of my friends did feel like they were being overcharged sometimes, so keep that in mind. The food is ready within 5 mins, and you are good to go. I do feel like the portions can be a bit smaller, and sometimes I am left wanting to eat and try more, but to each their own. I like to enjoy my food with a quick walk down to Bryant Park, sit on the tables and truly enjoy the vibe. Overall tho, I wish more halal-carts had chicken or lamb tikka on the menu as it is AMAZING. Highly recommend all other halal cart enthusiast really give it a try. Nice to see a nice South Asian twist to the traditional menu. Chicken Tikka and rice really needs to catch on in NYC. Also of note, like many south asian foods, the spicy sauce is indeed have quite the kick to it, so keep that in mind. Sometimes there are also undercooked/uneatable chicken pieces in my meal, but I fell like thats something you are bound to get in any Halal Cart stop. In my opinion, the best halal cart in Midtown. ”

“ My friend and I were in the area looking for a quick dinner spot Saturday around 8 pm. We walked by Adel's first, but the line was so long (looked like at least an hour wait) and we didn't want to wait in line that long. Then we walked by Royal Grill a couple blocks away and luckily there was barely a line. It was an easy decision to eat here. Royal Grill is an Indian take on halal food. They offer the usual like gyros and chicken and lamb over rice, but they also have items like biryani and kathi rolls. We shared the bbq chicken over rice for $9 with white sauce and asked for the spicy sauce to be on one side. We found a spot to sit and eat right around the corner. Maybe it was because we were cold and hungry, but the hot chicken over rice tasted SO good. There was plenty of flavor in each bite between the white sauce, the chicken, and the rice. We inhaled the whole thing in minutes. Watch out: the spicy sauce is spicy! My friend was dying by the end. Make sure you can handle spice if you decide to get it. ”

“ Compared to their more famous rivals, this place is just as good, when it comes to the food. It actually provides more variety, with multiple options available on the menu, compared to the guys on 53rd and 6th. They also have just as many, if not more, than the people on 49th and 6th. The bonus to this place is the wait. For food just as good, you won't have to wait as long. As good as the other places are, I don't know if it's worth waiting over 1.5 hours. For this reason, this place is worth it. Add in the food, and it's definitely worth a try. Because the line is shorter, the ability for the people working to tend to custom requests is better. I'll definitely be back. It tasted great. ”
